Lagan offers a variety of services in relation to the creation of books, journals and other documentation. These range from essential proof reading and editing (including grammatical correction) through to indexing and liaison with third parties.
The Lagan team includes authors and professional writers/researchers from the various fields of History, Humanities, English Literature, Theology, Anthropology and Modern Languages. They have experience of reviewing and indexing, and can work to time-sensitive deadlines.
Proof Reading
The author is usually the last person to spot their own typos and other errors. If these are allowed to be present in the final publication, a bad impression is created that diminishes the author’s credibility. An experienced proof reader can identify and correct these errors to achieve a professional presentation.
Editing and Grammar Correction
A professional editor can advise on the best choice of wording and structure that gets your message across in the most effective way. This is a separate function from proofreading as it examines the text in a broader context and suggests alternative an wording/structure in various cases.
Indexing and Bibliographies
Many authors have difficulty in preparing an index for their work. There is a careful balance to be achieved between minimal indexing and identifying every reference and this can often be best identified by a third party who has an overview of the work such as the proofreader/editor.
Liaison and Monitoring
Lagan can provide a mentoring service, tailored to your needs, to assist you in the final stages of your dissertation. This can include progress monitoring and review, guidance for students preparing deferred theses for re-submission, and proofreading/editing of dissertations prior to final submission.
